Pension plan
The future of those who have already worked a lot for Anglo American
Anglo American provides its employees with two types of pension plans managed by Fundambras (a private pension plan company): the Basic Plan and the Supplementary Plan. Among the active, associated (those who no longer contribute to the plan and are waiting to receive their pension), self-sponsored (former employees who are still contributing to the plan) and supported (who are paid the pension) employees, 4,112 have the Basic Plan and 3,491 have the Supplementary Plan.
In 2009, the expenses with pensions amounted to R$ 14.875.063,00 for the Basic Plan and R$ 13.636.180,00 for the Supplementary Plan. The latter consists of contributions made by the participants (deducted from the payroll) and by the company (50% of the contribution value paid by the participant). In the Basic Plan, the contributions are paid solely by the company.
Fundambras’ Basic and Supplementary Pension Plans are annually audited by independent auditors. 2009 data were audited by Price Waterhouse Coopers.
