Anglo American’s Policies and Tools

Anglo Social Way – Implemented in October 2009, the Anglo Social Way summarizes the commitments made by Anglo American to achieve excellence in social efforts. Its objective is to consolidate the already existing commitments in one single accessible document and to work on some existing gaps in the current policies. The main points touched upon include preventing or minimizing all negative impacts, guaranteeing a positive contribution for the communities where the company operates and preparing indicators and reports about these efforts.

The business units participate actively in the Anglo Social Way’s implementation process structuring, as well as in the self-evaluation exercise of each operation and the development of an upgrading plan to address all the social management weak points.

The Anglo Social Way positions itself next to the Anglo Safety Way, Anglo Occupational Health Way and Anglo Environmental Way management policies to bring a complete set of directives to the company’s sustainable development agenda.
