Companies for the Climate

Anglo American is a member of the EPC

The Empresas pelo Clima (EPC – Companies for the Climate) platform seeks to establish and strengthen a forum of officers and managers of companies committed to the search for solutions to reduce hazardous emissions to the environment. EPC also seeks to involve increasingly more organizations and governments in the sense to create and disclose their own carbon inventories, showing a strong commitment to goals oriented to reduction of emissions of greenhouse effect gases (GEE). FGV, by means of the Sustainability Study Center (GVCES) is articulating the EPC in parallel to the Brazilian Program GHG Protocol.

Since 2007, Anglo American is a founding member of the Brazilian Program GHG Protocol, which currently consists of 27 companies, and was one of the 10 companies to present a full inventory already at the launch of the program, having published in 2009 its inventory of greenhouse effect gas emissions 2008 in the Program Public Platform (www.ghgprotocolbrasil.com.br). Similarly, 2009 data shall be made available on this site.
