Activity closing policies

All Anglo American units have closing plans in place, except for the São Paulo unit, which are reviewed every three years – or in case of significant change to the project, such as expansion, process changes, etc.

The units have a toolbox with guidelines for development and follow-up, which take into account the DNPM Regulatory Mining Standard no. NRM-20 – Suspension, Closing of Mines and Resumption of Mining Operations. The closing costs are reviewed on an annual basis for provision purposes.
